Good food they look at you a little funny when you walk in in your work clothes like you don't have enough money

Great place. Foods great wait staff is great. Have an area for dogs. Definitely come back. Happy hour has a very good selection.

The food was good, but they seemed very under-staffed. It took over an hour and a half to get sushi. Everything else was good though.

Writing this review makes me sad. This restaurant was a favorite spot for us several years ago. I'm giving 2 stars because the food is still pretty good, however, the prices are not affordable. 50$ for 3 sushi rolls and water is outrageous. I will say, I recognized the staff was running around and trying to be efficient, but the service was still very slow. I used to be able to come here several times in one weekend of visiting Steamboat because it was affordable and delicious. Unfortunately, things have changed.

We really like this place. We sat right by the river and enjoyed appetizers. The staff is very friendly and fun. Highly recommended!

The only thing that happened with any speed was getting a table. We got seated, and ignored. When asked, hostesses "didn't know" who our server was, someone asked if wed been helped and then ignored us, and we had to ask for their full menu.after 15 mins we finally got... water. And a mostly-water soda. The only reason they're not getting 1 star is because when the guy that took our drink orders was out of the japanese soda and root beer, my kid started crying, and he went out of his way to track down a cup of rootbeer from somewhere, even though we tried to get alternatives instead.

We brought our toddler and really enjoyed their atmosphere on the back patio on the Yampa River in Steamboat Springs. All of the waiters checked on us and served us when needed, and we felt at home here. This was our favorite restaurant in town. They used to be a sushi restaurant, but recently turned it into a restaurant with American style food. My wife had the burger, I had the Chicago Dog, and we loved the fries. Great Happy Hour! This will be our first stop if we make it back to Steamboat Springs, CO

I would give them 6 stars if I could. Dinner was very good, fresh fish and tasty seasonings. The stuff was very polite and welcoming. We really enjoyed dinner and will be back soon.

I live in a rural area, so when my husband and I get to dine out for sushi we come hungry and with high expectations. From start to finish the meal was incredible. I couldn't believe my 2yr old ate an entire philly roll! The restaurant was busy, including our server. That being said she was spot on from beginning to end. I enjoyed dining here alongside the river and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Food was overpriced and portions were small. Although food was tasty, the service left much to be desired. I had a cali roll, crab rangoons, and a shrimp yakitori. All were good.

Ambience and quality of sushi is amazing! They even had food my daughters loved (not sushi). Highly recommend this brilliant location as it is on the river and just across the ski jump hill.The happy hour is a locals favorite. Our sever was also great!Cheers!!!

Really disappointing. Waited 15 minutes to be approached by a server after being seated. Waited another 30 minutes to get drinks. Currently waiting 1 hour for 2 rolls. Even worse, it's not busy - half the seats are empty. Beautiful patio! Hard to enjoy when you're hungry though...

Great Sushi and I love the outdoor seating!

We arrived 30 min early bc google had their hours wrong and they answered the door and asked if we would like to eat there even before they opened! By opening time we had already gotten our food and we’re almost finished. Super quick service and the view 5ft from the river is AMAZING. Planning on eating there again before we leave!

This place is delicious AND has a gorgeous view of the water!!! We had the gyoza and duck egg rolls appetizers, which were amazing! Followed by the king oyster tempura, which came as a larger portion than expected and was wonderful. We finished off with a bang, having the steak fried rice and Asian Ribs which were to die for! Highly recommend the saki, which there are several flavor options. The cold cucumber saki is light and refreshing while the cold coconut saki is very fruity and rich, so find your flavor. Next visit we will try the sushi, can't wait!!!

Sushi wasn’t bad, wasn’t the best we had either. But our experience was terrible. Our server was so slow. We were her only table, and hardly checked us, even drinks took forever. Then my daughter who ordered a grilled cheese had a huge black hair on it, were all light haired so obviously not ours. After sending her plate back, we are almost 99% sure they gave us the same plate back after warming it up again. Really? Gross. Cucumber salad was gross, and prices were so high. Oh and still paid for a $7 grilled cheese that had hair. Would never recommend.

Update 6/16/18 - Still love Sake2U! We went back on a date and had excellent service. Our server was attentive and the bus boys made sure that our empty plates were promptly removed and our water glasses were full. One of our favorite spots to hang out on the river.July 2017 - Great, easy going, laid back, family friendly atmosphere. Love that they have seating right on the river. Food was delicious, reasonably priced (by Steamboat standards) & service was great. Our server came over immediately with ice water for everyone.

Went here for birthday celebration. Pretty ambiance, staff super friendly. Was originally disappointed by vegan options, but talked to waitstaff and found they could alter and make a sweet potato roll (not on menu) so ended up pleased!

Nice place. Happy Hour sushi was good. Little bit fishy smelling upstairs by the kitchen, but that is understandable.

The atmosphere and location are excellent- right on the Yampa River in downtown Steamboat. Our server Sierra was the best and Mark the bartender couldn't have been friendlier. Oh and the Sushi is the best in town

A very enjoyable experience.

We were there during a challenging night when they were down a sushi chef and deliveries didn't happen that afternoon. Nonetheless we saw the potential for great sushi dinner with the one sushi chef doing it all. Prices are quite reasonable. Be sure to go sit upstairs at the sushi bar for best ambiance. Downstairs is more like a bar area. We were there in the winter for skiing, but the outdoor porch overlooking the river looks awesome for summertime.

My wife and I did not have the best experience. We sat next to the river on a cool night. We asked the staff to light the heaters, which they never did. We ordered two different ramen dishes. One pork and one miso. They brought two of the same dish out. When we told our waiter they were the same, he brought them back to the chef. The (new) chef then came out and told us that one was miso and one was pork. Which was a complete like. The new chef was extremely rude about it, and basically threw the dish back in front of my wife. Not to mention the ramen tasted of very poor quality. There are plenty of other tasty restaurants to visit rather than this one.

Best happy hour prices downtown, without a doubt. The sweet chili chicken wings were delicious. Great service.

My husband and I are thrilled that we will have a sushi restaurant in town when we move. Such a fun atmosphere and terrific location. The food was excellent and the sushi was fresh and delicious. Great family friendly restaurant too.

Okay so hear me out. We got seated super quickly. Which was nice, I thought this was a Japanese restaurant but there really didn’t have any Japanese food on the menu. Whatever, okay. I managed to have this amazing mushroom Swiss burger. My friend also got his burger on time. But like, his girlfriend we waited for 45 minutes for her to get her coconut shrimp. :(Food was great though! Thanks guys, I’d definitely come here again. The restaurant was super clean and we got to at right next to the river. The staff was friendly too!

This is a beautiful place to visit right on the Yampa. They offer outdoor seating, right next to the river. The sushi is great! They offer a happy hour on food as well as drinks.

I didn't use the bar at all but the food was amazing! The sushi was great and even the brussel sprouts were good.

Excellent sushi, well portioned, well prepared. A little pricey so come during happy hour for some good specials, we really loved the unagi, hamachi, and las vegas roll.

One of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. I come every year and one of the stops I have to make is there for some sashimi octopus, the most tender octopus I've ever had. The owners and amazing let us tour the place before it opened. They have a great story about the glass flower garden upstairs!

Very good sushi place in Steamboat. Friendly and attentive staff serving tasty sushi. The views are great from the deck in the summertime and prices are fair.

Good sushi.... great location on the river but exorbitant prices be prepared to pay way more than you expect to they will take your wallet and leave you with nothing. LOL

Love everything Sake2U has to offer!! Great food & drinks!! Always wonderful service!! I can't forget the Best Sushi Chef EVER!!!
